We know that making a financial donation, especially during challenging times, is a true act of generosity. At The Cavanagh House, your support makes it possible for individuals to gain financial stability through our paid apprenticeship training in upholstery and sewing.
Our full-time apprentices earn an income of $32,000 per year while learning their trade. We recognize that sponsoring a full year on your own is not possible for most people, but together, as a community, it is absolutely attainable.
100% of donations go directly toward a student sponsorship!
How It Works
1) Meet a Student to Sponsor :
Click the Meet Our Students link to explore our community of student apprentices
Visit each student’s page to learn who they are, what they are passionate about, and the skills they are building
See the real work they are creating through photos and videos of their projects
Receive ongoing updates and messages that let you follow your sponsored student’s growth and journey over time
2) Make a Sponsorship Donation
Choose your student using the dropdown menu under “My Donation is for:”
Every gift—whether $25, $5,000+, or a full sponsorship—becomes part of a shared Student Sponsorship Community
Your donation begins supporting your student immediately, even before the community is fully formed
As contributions grow and reach the $32,000 annual goal, you will be notified that your student’s first year is funded
Continued donations support the second year, and once that goal is met, you will be notified that your student is fully funded and the community will close
3) Receive Updates
As a Community Sponsor member, you will receive:
Notifications when your community reaches its $32,000 goal
A photo and personal note from your sponsored student
Quarterly updates on your student’s training, progress, and achievements
4) Program Timelines & Continuity
At the end of the first year, your and your community members will be invited to renew your sponsorship for another year. If needed, we will add members to maintain a full sponsorship.
5) If Circumstances Change
If a student graduates early or leaves the program, your community will be reassigned to another student so your sponsorship continues to make an impact. We currently have a waitlist of students ready to begin training.
