Hello, my name is Amirah. When I started training at the Cavanagh House, I had very little experience in sewing and absolutely no experience in upholstery. Now, I find myself fully immersed in the projects I get to work on. As someone who honors eco-conscious practices, I particularly love taking a piece of furniture that could have been destined for a landfill and transforming it into something beautiful. My experience here at the Cavanagh House has also piqued my interest in Interior Design. Through this program, I’m gaining skills that will allow me to support myself and my 3-year old son.
